Wayne Samuel Windell
August 16, 1922 — June 4, 2014
Mr. Wayne Samuel Windell age 91 of Salem passed away Wednesday, June 4 at St. Vincent Hospital of Salem.
Mr. Windell was born August 16, 1922 in Corydon, Indiana the son of Benton and Nell Keller Windell. He was the owner of Western Auto Store since 1958. Wayne was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion and VFW. He was also a member of Salem Masonic Lodge #21 and Salem Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his companion: Ruth Stewart of Salem, two sons: Scott Windell (Julie) and Delyn Windell both of Salem, and 2 grandchildren: Allison and Tyler Windell both of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
Masonic services will be held Friday at 7:00PM at the funeral home.
