Virginia "Jenny" (Lemarr) Byrd

Mrs. Virginia “Jenny” Lemarr Byrd age 82 of Salem passed away Wednesday, August 3 at Salem Crossing.

Mrs. Byrd was born April 1, 1940 in Washington County the daughter of Arthur and Veda Goins Lemarr. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Virginia worked many years at Child Craft in Salem, and at Meadow View Health and Rehab in the laundry department. She never had any children but loved everyone else’s and had a love for animals.

She is survived by a brother: Johnny Lemarr of Salem, a sister: Jenetta Jonas of Salem, a niece: Tina Sorrels (Calvin) of Salem, a nephew: Clint Bailey, and several other nieces and nephews.

Virginia is preceded in death by two brothers: Leonard Marion, and Emmitt Marion, a sister: Geneva Dowling, a nephew: Terry Dowling, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM Tuesday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Winslow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-until time of service.
