Mrs. Virginia Stout Spurgeon age 74 of Salem passed away Thursday, October 31 at Meadow View Health Care and Rehab.
Mrs. Spurgeon was born January 6, 1939 in Salem the daughter of Glenn and Florence McCoskey Garriott. She was a retired employee of LeWeb. She was a member of Canton Christian Church and a past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Spurgeon, her parents, two brothers: Harry and Robert Garriott, and two sisters: Rosemary Hollen and Bonnie Garriott. She is survived by a son: Randy Stout (Julia) of Salem, two daughters: Sandy Fackler of Salem and Lori Barnett (Bryan) of Vallonia, two step-sons: Scott Spurgeon of Hanover and Steve Spurgeon of Jeffersonville, a step--daughter: Leiah Spurgeon of Salem, three sisters: Lucile Tatlock of Floral City, Florida, Hazel Hollen of Birdseye, Indiana and Mildred Luse of Bloomfield, Indiana, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
