Virgil "Butch" Lee Pumphrey

Mr. Virgil “Butch” Lee Pumphrey, age 66, of Salem, passed away Thursday, August 26 at his home.

Mr. Pumphrey was born June 8, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Indiana the son of Elvin R. Pumphrey and Anna Mae Jonas Pumphrey. He was a member of the Pekin Pre-Gospel Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his fiancé: Lisa Wynn, two sons: Aaron Lewis and Justin Pumphrey both of Salem, two brothers: William Pumphrey of Austin, and Roger Pumphrey of Louisville, a sister: Linda Lee of Salem, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, his mother: Anna Mae Pumphrey of Salem, his favorite dog: Titan, and several nieces and nephews.

Butch is preceded in death by a son: Troy Pumphrey, a brother: Donald Ray Pumphrey, two sisters: Ann Hedrick, and Lisa Pumphrey, and his father: Elvin R. Pumphrey.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Crown Hill Cemetery.
