Steven Wayne Sutton

Steven Wayne Sutton, 60, of Campbellsburg, Indiana passed from this earth into eternal life on November 13, 2023 while doing what he loved and looked forward to all year, hunting. He passed away of natural causes in the place where he often found peace in this life, the southern Indiana woods.

Words cannot express how much he valued all his family and close friends. He was a loving and loyal man. He showed us all unconditional love, as the Lord would have us do.

Steve was born August 13,1963 in Columbus Indiana to Harold and Wanda (Leathermon) Sutton. He excelled in sports, especially softball, baseball and archery. He graduated from Columbus North High School in 1981. He served his country in the Indiana Army National Guard. In 1987 he began his long career in the swimming pool business. In 2001 he started his own business in Greenwood Indiana, Reflections Pool and Liner Specialists. On February 10, 1990 he married his wife of almost 34 years, Deborah (Legge) whom worked alongside him in the business and in this life. Steve worked hard to provide for his family. He was a respected professional in the swimming pool business, with many longtime and loyal customers.  In the winter months he enjoyed his work as a talented taxidermist and knife smith. He enjoyed racing and looked forward every August for the last 20 years to attend the Knoxville Iowa Sprint Car Nationals with his cousin Gilbert and longtime friends.

Absolutely above all, he treasured watching his sons grow and become men, marrying, and eventually adding to his life the joy of his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Deborah, sons Dillen Rodgers (Kasey) Jeffery Sheets (Jenna), Bryan Sutton(Courtney), and Taylor Sutton (Rebecca) He leaves here on this earth 12 grandchildren. He is survived by his father Harold Sutton, his brother Brian Sutton (Angela), nephew Gavin Sutton, niece Sydney Sutton, nephew Shawn Burge (Katlynn). Also surviving are his Uncle Irvin Sutton, Aunt Anita Sutton, Aunt Sandy Leathermon and Aunt Helen Vice. Surviving are several cousins including Kathy Scifries, Phil Farler, Misty Leathermon, Darla Leathermon Kelley, Laura VanWinkle, Kent Wingler and Penny Russell. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Wanda Sutton, grandparents Harold and Ruby Sutton, grandparents Frank and Lola Leathermon, Uncle Leon Leathermon, Aunt Barbara Wingler, Uncle Gene Wingler and cousins Gilbert VanWinkle and Gerald Sutton.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 25, 2023, at Weathers Funeral Home
