Stephen Ray Wells

Mr. Stephen Ray Wells age 70 of Pekin passed away Sunday, March 18 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr. Wells was born September 14, 1947 the son of Ernest and Bertha Claretta Bateman Wells.  He was a construction supervisor and a member of the Labor Union.  He was a member of the National Guard, American Legion, VFW and a charter member of the Salem Moose Lodge.

He is survived by one son:  Aaron Wells of Salem, two daughters:  Anita Abner of Vallonia and Rachel Young of New Albany, two brothers:  David Keith Wells and Richard Lee Wells both of Salem, two sisters:  Barbara Ernestine Robarge of Corydon and Lois Vaughn Thomas of Columbus, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother:  Lowell Wells and a grandson:  Jacob Abner.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 9AM-time of service.
