Stanley V Satterwhite

June 4, 1941 — January 30, 2015

Mr. Stanley Vernon Satterwhite age 73 of Salem passed away Friday, January 30 at University of Louisville Hospital.

Mr. Satterwhite was born June 4, 1941 in Shelby County, Kentucky the son of Delbert Verners and Mary Etta Rogers Satterwhite.  He was a retired truck driver and farmer.  He attended Saltillo Christian Church.  He was former Jefferson Township Fire Chief and was a stock car racing enthusiast and driver, having raced at Thunder Valley and Sportsdrome.

Stanley is survived by two daughters:  Karen Houston (Randy) and Susie Cooke (Bruce) both of Salem, two brothers:  Larry Satterwhite (Leona) of Hardinsburg and Michael Satterwhite (Sally) of Salem, four sisters:  Joyce Newton of Jeffersonville, Janet Gay (Brooks) of Turner Station, Kentucky, Patsy Hauger (Danny) and Darlene Sabens (Tommy) both of Salem, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons, and 4 step-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death his parents, a great-grandson:  Christopher McKillip and one step-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.
