Sean C. Jeremiah, age 33, of Salem, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, January 6 surrounded by those he loved, after a long battle with liver disease that he fought valiantly. He felt his purpose in life was to influence others toward Christianity by allowing God’s light to shine through him. Those who have been with him on this journey can testify that Sean always had a smile on his face, compassion for others, and a desire to make the world a better place. Clear eyes. Ful Hearts. Can’t lose.
Sean was born November 30, 1989 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Jeff and Melissa Shell Jeremiah. He was a graduate of Salem High School and attended Indiana University Southeast where he was a member of TKE fraternity. He attended Fellowship church. Sean was a former US Army heavy equipment operator at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was also a Salem Middle School Football Coach, machine operator for Kimball International in Salem, and in management for Jay C Food Stores.
Sean is survived by his parents: Melissa and Jeff Jeremiah of Salem, Indiana, his beloved Maine Coon Cat: Gizmo of Salem, Indiana, grandfather: Leonard Shell of Salem, Indiana, grandmother: Kathryn Jeremiah of Salem, Illinois, niece: Madison Bracken of Trafalgar, Indiana, and brother: Adam Jeremiah of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother: Linda Shell, grandfather: John Jeremiah, and sister: Ashley Swisher.
Sean enjoyed Salem Football, playing guitar, Madden Football on Play Station, IU and Colts Football, IU Basketball, driving his Jeep, riding his Motorcycle, visiting with friends, trying out new foods and cooking.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Rodney Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 11AM-time of service.
