Sara Juel (Mull) Porter

Mrs. Sara Juel Porter age 87 of Salem passed away Saturday, June 21 at University of Louisville Hospital.

Mrs. Porter was born April 6, 1927 in Clark County the daughter of Cecil and Maude Pixley Mull.  She was retired from Allison Coupon Company in Indianapolis.  She was a faithful member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.  She volunteered for Washington County Memorial Hospital Auxillary and was involved with Relay for Life Survivor’s Walk and the Salem Senior Center.  She enjoyed cooking and loved her family.

Juel was preceded in death by her husband:  Loyd Porter .  They were married on January 26, 1946.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter:  Linda Freeman, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and her parents.

She is survived by two sons:  Terry Porter (Margaret) of Hahira, Georgia and David Porter (Molly) of Chicago, Illinois, a daughter:  Susan Murdock (Joe) of Delphi, Indiana, a sister:  Ruth Stewart of Spring Hill, Florida, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in  Blue River Christian Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.
