Rowena F (Gipson) Hobson

Mrs. Rowena F. Hobson age 86 of Salem passed away Sunday, May 31 at Salem Crossing.

Mrs. Hobson was born November 7, 1928 in Campbellsburg, Indiana the daughter of Frank and Hazel Robbins Gipson.  She was a retired employee of Kimball’s and Childcraft.  She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

Rowena married Lloyd Hobson on July 7, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1987.  She is also preceded in death by a son:  Randall Hobson, a sister:  Daphne Allen and her parents.  She is survived by two sons:  Mark W. and Kim D. Hobson both of Salem, a sister:  Betty Peters of Vallonia, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Neil Kenyon officiating.  Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 9AM-time of service.
