Robert Rex Davis
June 23, 1925 — July 23, 2015
Mr. Robert Rex Davis age 90 of Salem passed away Thursday, July 23 at Meadow View Health Care and Rehab.
Mr. Davis was born June 23, 1925 in Salem the son of Frank and Edith Batt Davis. He was a member of Kansas Church of Christ. He was a retired farmer and had also worked for the Washington County Highway Department and as a bus driver for West Washington School. He was very proud to have been a VA Shuttle Driver and a Red Cross Blood Donor and had received recognition awards for both. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Melva Grace Bartle Davis on June 11, 2013, two brothers: Willard and Roscoe Davis, two sisters: Alice Baker and Betty Jorgenson, a great-grandchild and his parents. He is survived by three sons: Steve Davis (Barbara), Mark Davis (Linda), and Eric Davis (Jana) all of Salem, four daughters: Kathy Wilson (John) of Campbellsburg, Carol Davis of Corydon, Brenda Boling (Chris) of Salem and Lori Martin (Steve) of Clarksville, a brother: Albert Leroy Davis, three sisters: Mary Curry, Martha Miller, and June Baines, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kansas Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10AM-time of service.
