Mr. Richard “Rick” Anthony Blevins, age 68, of Salem passed away Monday, March 14th at his residence.
Mr. Blevins was born March 24, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Walter Blevins and Margaret Wingler Blevins Woods (Tom). He was a member of New Salem Church of God. He was a professional musician and guitar player. He had a love for music and wrote many songs. His idol was Elvis Presley. He had many friends. He also did drywall work.
He is survived by his beloved dog: Fiona, two sons: Nathan Grant (Mandi) of Horseshoe, TX, and Jarred Blevins of El Paso, Texas Fortbliss where he serves in the Army. One daughter: Vanessa Blevins of Iowa, two grandchildren: Madison Day, and Emery June Grant, four brothers: Lonnie Blevins (Louise), Victor Blevins (Pam), Larry Blevins all of Salem, and Butch Blevins (Sally) of Hammond, IN, one sister: Jan Valandingham of Kingman, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one grandson: Colton Nathaniel Grant, one sister: Vivian Gould, one brother: Roger Blevins, and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 17 at Crown Hill Cemetery.
