Mr. Randall Darrell Fultz Sr., age 74, of Salem, entered into eternal rest after a long, brave battle to overcome pneumonia at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.
Mr. Fultz was born September 18, 1944 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Roger N. and Myrtle A. Pollard Fultz. He was a dedicated employee of Smith Cabinet Company, and later GKN Sinter Metals, where he retired. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran, serving his country from 1970-1973 where he took enemy fire during combat and received the purple heart for his courage and bravery. He was a life member of American Legion Post #41, Salem Eagles Aerie #3422, and VFW Post #6636.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Wells Fultz. They were married November 7, 1970. He is also survived by five children: Darrell “Fish” Fultz (Sheila) of Salem, Mike “Duff” Fultz of Salem, Richard Fultz of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tanja Ramsby (Corey) of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Jon Gilstrap (Julia) of Salem, a brother: Ronald Dean Fultz (Nymia) of the Phillipines, his ex-wife, and mother of his children: Barbara Gilstrap, 13 grandchildren: Tiffany Odum (Danny), Tanner Fultz (Casie), Lilly Gibson, Alley Gibson, Jacob Paladino (Raquel), Tevan Fultz (Michelle), Sean Ramsby (Liz), Kristina Pope (Chuck), Andrew Ramsby, Devin Gilstrap, Spencer Gilstrap, Samantha Gilstrap, and Korabelle Gilstrap, and 14 great-grandchildren with one expecting, as well as many friends and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Roger Dale Fultz.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 10AM-time of service.
