Mr. Porter Alvin Becraft age 78 of Pekin passed away Monday, March 10 at his home.
Mr. Becraft was born September 28, 1935 in Preston, Kentucky the son of Earl and Kathleen Riffitt Becraft. He spent his childhood and young adulthood in Indiana. He met and married Delores Motsinger and to this union six children were born. They later divorced. Porter worked construction and his job took him to Nebraska. He enjoyed his Nebraska life and owned his own business for many years known as Porter Bee’s Auto Body Shop. He returned to Indiana in 1983.
Porter is survived by his sons: Danny Becraft of Pekin and Kerry Becraft (Jo) of Salem, and daughters: Shannon Fairchild (Mike) and Tammy Becraft both of Montana and Teresa Andersen (Bruce) of Nebraska, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, two sisters: Agnes Schofield (Wendell) of Campbellsburg and Delores Gray of Pekin and very special friends: Danny and Jana Walker of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Kathleen Becraft and daughter: Sherry Paulette Becraft.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:30AM at Blue River Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home.
Porter will be greatly missed and has done his final wave from his porch to us all.
