Mrs. Patsy Ruth Freeland, age 89, of Salem, passed away Monday, October 23 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Mrs. Freeland was born July 19, 1934, in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Pauline Plunkett Cave. She was a member of Christ Community Church of the Nazarene and attended Salem Wesleyan Church. She spent most of her life as a Pastor’s wife and serving as his secretary.
Patsy is survived by her husband: Reverend Ronald D. Freeland. They were married August 26, 1956. She is also survived by three daughters: Rhonda Hutchins (Robert) of Pekin, Diana Rudder (Rodney) of Salem, and Tamara Brown (Randy) of Alvarado, Texas, 8 grandchildren: Rick Hutchins, Ryan Jones, Dawn Busick, Joy Wilson, Andrew Saltsgaver, Niki Belles, Evan McWhirter, and Anthony Watson, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Sheila Parsley, a granddaughter: Kendra Jones, her parents, and son-in-laws: Robert Hutchins and Rodney Rudder.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Steve Caniff officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-time of service.
