Pastor John Taylor Lewis III, age 76, of Campbellsburg, passed away Monday, November 30 at his home.
Pastor Lewis was born May 16, 1944 in Honolulu, Hawaii the son of Meriwether Lewis and Mary Thatcher Lewis. He was Pastor of Old Paths Baptist Church for 27 years. He was Vietnam Army veteran.
John is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Betty Patterson Lewis. He is also survived by two sons: John Taylor Lewis IV of Fountain City, Indiana and Nathan Lee Lewis (Anna) of Garden Valley, Idaho, two daughters: Naomi Corinne Lewis of Campbellsburg, Indiana and Sarah Elizabeth White (Kelly) of Medora, Indiana, two brothers: Meriwether Lewis Jr. of Clarksville, Virginia and Frank T. Lewis of England, a sister: Claire Arnold of Atlanta, Georgia, and 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth White, David White, Victoria White, Arabella White, Serenity White, Wyoming Lewis, Joseph Lewis, John Lewis, Alena Lewis, and Sierra Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1PM at Old Paths Baptist Church, 6023 N. White River Road, Campbellsburg. Burial will follow in Cavetown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11AM-time of service at the church.
