Orie Del Edwards

Mr. Orie Del Edwards age 72, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, January 15 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr. Edwards was born June 9, 1946 in Wooton, Kentucky the son of Earl and Jenny Hendricks Edwards.  He was a retired employee of Child Craft Industries.

He is survived by his wife:  Mary Colwell Edwards of Salem. He is also survived by five daughters:  Rachel Haub (Jamie) of Salem, Angela Long of Salem, Sheri Alcocer (William) of Wheatfield, Indiana, Sandra Hobbs (Paul) of Phoenix City, Alabama, and Lucinda Gray (Donnie) of Salem, five sisters:  Earletta Baker of New Salisbury, Marilyn “Kathy” Cornett of Wooton, Carolyn Cornett of Wooton, Dinah English of Wooton and Glenna “Vonnie” Combs of Wooton, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister:  Fannie Hammack, brothers-in-law:  James Baker, Leslie Cornett and Bill Cornett and a great-grandson: Nathan Stidham.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
