Oren F Brown

Mr. Oren F. Brown age 96 of Salem passed away Saturday, November 24 at Salem Crossing.

Mr. Brown was born March 6, 1916 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Pete and Lula Lockenour Brown.  He was a retired shipping clerk for Vulcan-Hart in Louisville, a former employee of the old Cauble Hatchery in Pekin and a farmer.  He was a member of Big Springs Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife:  Mildred Miller Brown on May 16, 1994.   He was also preceded in death by three brothers:  Pete, Bob and Arnold, two grandsons:  Brian Bagshaw and Todd Porter, a great-granddaughter:  Summer Abel and his parents.

He is survived by a son:  Brent Vaughn Brown of Salem, four daughters:  Sharon Watterson of Mitchell, Sandra Kay Bierly of Pekin, Patricia Sue Gilstrap of Salem and Brenda Dawn Bagshaw of Pekin, three brothers:  Merle, Elmo and Jesse Brown all of Salem, a sister:  Ruth McKinney of Muncie, Indiana, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.
