Mrs. Oma Tompkins, age 75, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 23 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Mrs. Tompkins was born November 30, 1945 in Harlan, Kentucky the daughter of Chester and Opha Nantz Green. She attended High Street Church of Christ, and a member of the American Legion Post #41. She was known for being deeply religious, caring and selfless. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved taking care of everyone that she could. She loved watching westerns and listening to gospel music.
She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Horine (Earl) of Salem and Andrea Montgomery (Rick) of Jeffersonville, a brother: Chet Green (Susan) of Salem, a sister: Nancy Ann Cooper (Garfield) of Millington, Michigan, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Monty Dale Tompkins, a daughter: Paula Huff, three brothers: Edward Green, Donald Green and Olen Green, a sister: Crystal Green and her parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 17 at 10AM in the pavilion at Crown Hill Cemetery.
