Norva Lee (Sampson) Roop

Mrs. Norva Lee Roop age 84 of Salem passed away Saturday, September 27 at Meadow View Health Care and Rehab.
Mrs. Roop was born April 18, 1930 in Jonesville, Virginia the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Hazel Ward Sampson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
On November 3, 1947 Norva married Claude “Milford” Roop and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son: Gwen Roop, brothers: Earl, Willard, Ervine and Tex Sampson, sisters: Alice Lambert and Mary Taylor and her parents.
She is survived by two sons: Troy Roop (Melissa) of Salem and Duane Roop (Meg) of Sahuarita, Arizona, daughters: Vera Crane (Bobby) of Salem and Sheila Bilyeu of Pekin, brothers: Cecil Sampson of Vandalia, Ohio, Dow Sampson of Huber Heights, Ohio and Clarence Sampson of Hermitage, Tennessee, sisters: Virginia Bake of Lincolnton, Georgia, Wilma Jean Gilbert of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Judy Johnson of Heritage, Tennessee, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Campbellsburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM and Wednesday from 9Am-time of service.
