Mrs. Norma Jean Marshall, age 92, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, July 23 at her home.
Mrs. Marshall was born November 8, 1931, in Clark County, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Bruner Lewellen. She was a member of Canton Christian Church. Norma was previously employed by Smith Cabinet and Bata Shoe Company. She was known by everyone as Miss Norma from volunteering at Nice’s Restaurant and Country Cooking. She volunteered for the Pekin and Salem Senior Centers and served as Treasurer of the Pekin Center. She loved music and dancing. Norma and Marvin were regulars at South Boston Opry, where she volunteered as cook and “official pot passer.”
Mrs. Marshall is survived by her son, Brian Marshall (Donna) of Salem, her daughters, Cindy Marshall of Salem and Carol Marlman (Paul) of Salem, her sister, Sandra Wilfinger, four grandchildren, two step-grandsons, five great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marshall is preceded by her parents, her husband Marvin Eugene Marshall a daughter: Karen Sue Hardy, and her sister, Wilma Speer.
Cremation was chosen, a memorial service will be held on August 4 at 2PM at Salem Senior Center.
