Nelson Garber

Mr. Nelson Garber, age 78 years, 11 months, and 4 days, died Thursday, March 17, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Garber was born April 14, 1943, in Ohio the son of Christian A. and Elizabeth Miller Garber.  He was a retired farmer and New Order Amish Bishop.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Edna Hershberger Garber.  They were married August 9, 1964.  He is the beloved father of and survived by:  Stephen Garber (Esther) of Richmond, Missouri, Ella Mae Garber of Salem, Jesse Garber (Lois) of Salem, Aaron Garber (Lisa) of Millersburg, Ohio, Mary Sue Miller (Devon) of Brookfield, Missouri, Glen Garber (Rebecca) of Salem, Joseph Garber (Judith) of Lebanon, Missouri, and David Garber (Sharon) of Salem, 41 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father:  Christian A. Garber and mother:  Elizabeth Garber and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17 from 6-8PM, Friday, March 18 from 1-4 and 6-8PM at Miller Mini Barns, 6073 S. West Washington School Rd. Salem, Indiana 47167.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19 at 9:30AM at Miller Mini Barns with James Troyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Salem Amish Church Cemetery.
