Morris R. Stephenson age 91 of Salem passed away Wednesday, February 13 at St. Vincent Hospital of Salem.
Mr. Stephenson was born November 27, 1921 in Washington County, Indiana the son of William "Ted" and Cora Grace Chastain Stephenson. He was a retired farmer and a former taxidermist in Crescent City, Florida. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife: Marietta Oliver Stephenson. They were married February 9, 1941. He is also survived by a son: Jack Reid Stephenson of Salem, a brother: Melvin Stephenson of Salem, a sister: Carolyn Hutton of Salem, 2 grandchildren: Sandra Beams and Reid Stephenson, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Nelson Stephenson, a sister: Tharon Short and a great-granddaughter: Tiffany Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
