Mrs. Mildred E. Farmer age 94 of Salem passed away Thursday, April 24 at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Farmer was born February 28, 1920 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Floyd and Mabel Chastain Myers. She was a retired employee of the Washington County Veteran’s Service Office. She was a member of Westview Christian Church and Westview Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Friendly Neighbors Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Orville Zink. She then married Clyde Farmer and he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Leon and Norman Zink, a daughter: Paula Jean Farmer, two brothers: Nelson and Howard Myers, two sisters: Maxine Jackson and Marjorie Colglazier and two grandchildren: Diana Sue Zink and Kendra Elizabeth Zink and her parents.
She is survived by a son: Mark Farmer (Sandy Haworth) of Salem, two daughters: Marcella Backherms (Buck) of Salem and Deborah Lanham (Rick) of Pekin, a brother: James Myers of Orleans, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00AM at Westview Christian Church. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Monday from 10AM-time of service at the church.
