Mildred E. Coomer age 84 of Salem passed away Wednesday, June 27 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Coomer was born July 24, 1927 in Glasgow, Kentucky the daughter of Brent and Elma Eddings Matthews. She was retired as a waitress for 37 years for Tommy Lancaster's in New Albany. She was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband: George H. Coomer, a son: Walter Lee Coomer, a grandson: Stephen Ray Coomer, two sisters: Willadean Huddleston and Christine Lopp and her parents.
She is survived by two sons: Charles H. Coomer of Salem and Donald R. Coomer of New Albany, three daughters: M. Aileen McNew and Margie M. Slusser both of Salem and Linda LaDuke of New Albany, a brother: William Matthews of Glasgow, Kentucky, a sister: Virginia Lopp of Clarksville, 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren.
