Melvin Ray Loyd

Mr. Melvin Ray Loyd, age 77 of Salem, passed away Tuesday, September 15 at Northwood Retirement Home.

Melvin was born to Howard and Olive Cromer Loyd on June 18, 1943 in Salem, Indiana.  He was a lifelong dairy farmer and a member of Kansas Church of Christ.

Melvin is survived by his wife:  Betty Sue Ledford Loyd.  They were married August 23, 1961.  He is also survived by his children:  Steven Loyd (Brenda) of Salem and Brenda Pruitt (Chris) of Pekin, one grandson:  Travis Nicks (Jennifer) of Palmyra, and four great-grandchildren:  Treven, Brody, Hattie, and Delsa Nicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
