Mrs. Maxine Cornwell Luse age 90 of Bloomington, formerly of Livonia, passed away Wednesday, October 21 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Mrs. Luse was born January 18, 1925 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Vance and Cossie Gardner Jones. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Miller’s Dress Shop, Paris Style, Marquand’s Manner and Little Twirl. She was a member of Livonia Presbyterian Church with her husband, Lowell “Dagon” Cornwell and Phi Beta Psi. She attended Agape Ministries with her husband, Murril Luse and then Sherwood Oaks Christian Church when she moved to Bloomington.
Maxine married Lowell “Dagon” Cornwell in 1941 and they were married for 56 years until his death on April 21, 1998. She then married Murril Luse on January 4, 2000 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her son: Mark Cornwell, brother: Bobby Jones, sister: Alice Domi, a grandchild: Ryan Scott Brewer and her parents.
She is survived by a son: Denny Cornwell (Melba) of Bloomington, two daughters: Sheila Brewer (Ivan) of Bloomington and Jana Hawkins (Allen) of Centerville, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30AM at Livonia Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Livonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30-time of service at the church.
