Maurice R Hurst

Mr. Maurice R. Hurst, age 85, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, January 24 at his home.

Mr. Hurst was born April 3, 1938 in Borden, Indiana, the son of Kenneth”Bud” Hurst and Pearl Marie Reister Hurst.  He was a member of Canton Christian Church.  He was a retired employee of Kimball’s in Borden.

Maurice is survived by his wife of 64 years:  Shirley Hedges Hurst.  They were married December 19, 1959.  He is also survived by his daughter:  Tammy Hubbard (Troy) of Salem, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sons:  Terry and Timmy Hurst, two brothers:  Larry and Arvel Hurst, and two sisters:  Rita Ringle and Bonnie Brindley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home with Toney Voyles officiating.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5-8PM and Tuesday from 10AM-time of service.
