Mary Lou Reed

Mrs. Mary Lou Reed, age 85, of Pekin, passed away Thursday, July 7 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.

Mrs. Reed was born May 8, 1937, in Borden the daughter of Bert and Violet Staniford Hurst. She was a lifelong member of Borden Church of Christ. Mary was a retired Eastern Elementary School Aid after 29 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Leslie Reed, a brother: Robert Hurst, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters: Lisa Purlee (Kevin) of Salem, and Lori Wilson (Cliff) of Pekin, four grandchildren: Jeremy Davidson (Angela), Nathan Staser, Ashley Munk (Cody), and Erika Wilson (fiancé- Justin Pettit), eight great-grandchildren: Taylor Jordan, Gavin Davidson, Rory Davidson, Jeremy Davidson Jr., Ean Davidson, Leslie Munk, Lindley Munk, and Lucy Munk.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday at Borden Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 9AM-until time of service all at the church.
