Martha Jane (Zink) Collins

Mrs. Martha J. Collins age 95 of Salem passed away Monday, July 21 at Lincoln Hills Healthcare in New Albany.

Mrs. Collins was born December 10, 1918 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Azro and Sarah Bullington Zink.  She was a retired employee of Salem Community Schools where she worked in the cafeteria.   She was a member of Salem (High Street) Church of Christ.

Martha married Wayne Collins on October 18, 1936 and he preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers:  Harold Lee Zink and Ernest Eugene Zink and her parents.

She is survived by two sons:  Charles I. Collins of St. Louis, Missouri and Stuart W. Collins of Sellersburg, two sisters:  Virginia Jarrett of St. Louis, Missouri and Mary Jewel Purlee of Fern Creek, Kentucky, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Danny Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 9AM-time of service at the funeral home.
