Mrs. Mable Ellen Zink age 95 of Salem, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital of Salem.
Mrs. Zink was born August 27, 1918, 11 miles north of Norma, North Dakota the daughter of John Thomas and Johanna Marie Landrock Overton.
She was a co-founder of Zink Signs along with her husband. She was a member of the High Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by one son: Leon Cook, five brothers: Charles, Earl, John, Jim and Paul Overton, and two sisters: Charlotte O’Neal and Alice Chastain.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Lowell L. “Swito” Zink of Salem, one son: Lerry Zink (Peggy) of Salem, one sister: Ruth Nelson of Eatonville, Washington, six grandchildren: Bryan Cook (Julie) of Salem, Melinda Ibegbu of Nigeria, Brenda Cantrell (Chris) of Jefferson City, Tennessee, Barry Cook (Diane) of Buffalo, Kansas, Chris Zink (Stacy) of Salem and Erich Zink (Sally) of Salem, 11 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
