Mr. Lloyd Morton Moore died in his home on April 10, 2020, in Salem, Indiana, at the age of 78.
Lloyd Moore is survived by his siblings: Merlin Moore of Alabama, and Tom Moore of Indiana, his children: Danny and Kenny Moore, both of whom reside in Indiana. Lloyd had nine grandchildren: Bridget Rubio Martinez, Brittany Fraze, Danniel Walters, Ruth Moore, Danny Moore Jr., James Moore, Keely Davidson, Jacob Howell, and Damien Miller, and twelve great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Walters, Alexis Walters, Dylan Walters, Haylee Rubio Martinez, MaryMar Rubio Martinez, Davion Rubio Martinez, Allie Moore, Ava Moore, Bentley Moore, Whitley Moore, Kate Howell, and Roselynn Howell. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents: Golden and Margret Moore, his loving wife: Tawnea “Mae” Moore, siblings: Golden (JR), Rodney, Marvin, Bob, Sue, Martha, Mike and Ronnie and his daughter: Melinda Moore.
Lloyd Moore was born November 29, 1941, to Golden and Margret Moore. He graduated from Borden High School. Shortly after graduating, he joined the military, serving multiple tours in Vietnam, where he earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and two overseas bars. He was Honorably discharged from the military in July of 1984. He married Tawnea “Mae, in 1976. He worked in factories for most of his adult life. Over the next twenty-five years, the couple welcomed three children into their home. His children remember him as a hardworking father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
He was a dedicated individual who loved spending time with his ever-growing family and who was passionate about teaching his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids different traits such as baking, cooking, woodwork, and many other skills. He loved showing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to cook, bake and garden.
A service is scheduled for immediate family only, with a memorial service at a later date for all wishing to attend.
