Linda L. McKnight, 77, Salem, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at University of Louisville Hospital.
Born Feb. 5, 1942, in Salem, she was the daughter of William Luther Tompkins and Pauline Saylor Tompkins. She attended Franklin Township School and graduated from Salem High School in 1960. She retired from the Jacket Factory in 1996 to care for her grandchildren. She was a member of Canton United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 6, 1980, she married Perry McKnight, he survives.Other survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Smith, Salem; six grandchildren: Jessica (Eddie) Emily, Jason (Courtney) Smith, Jenne (Josh) Voyles, Adam (Jessica) Lloyd, Brandi Lloyd, all from Salem, and Laci (Mark) Grube, Sellersburg; 15 great-grandchildren: Bailee McNeely, Jackson McNeely, Bryson McNeely, Jenah McNeely, Shelby Lloyd, Hanna Bowman, Skylar Bowman, Presli Lloyd, Lilli Gilstrap, Lincoln Voyles, Lucy Voyles, Jayden Lee, Treyton Lee, Kamryn Lee, and Landon Grube; two sisters: Joyce Fultz, Salem and Paula (Bill) Cheatham, Salem; three brothers: William (Mary Alice) Tompkins, Prattville, Alabama; Ernie Stewart, Kentucky, and Monty Dale Tompkins, Salem.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Teresa Marie Hollen Smedley and Susan Beth Hollen Lee; three brothers: Loyd Tompkins, Marshal Stewart, and Richard Stewart; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home with Linda’s nephew, Tom Fultz, officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., and Friday from 9AM- until time of service at the funeral home.
