Leslie Bruce Allen

Leslie Bruce Allen age 96 of Scottsburg, formerly of Salem, passed away Monday, September 3 at his home.

Mr. Allen was born June 25, 1916 in Jeffersonville, Indiana the son of Warren and Maud Bottoroff Daily Allen.  He was the owner of Allen Electric for 47 years and retired Postmaster for Salem Post Office.  He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Salem Masonic Lodge #21 and Willis Stewart Lodge #224.  He was a 50 year past master of Salem Masonic Lodge, a 50 year member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, Chapter 38 and Council 61.  He was a member of Seymour Commandery and a recipient of Knights of York Cross of Honor.  He was a also a former City Council member.

He is survived by a daughter:  Sherry Hardin of Glendale, Arizona, a son-in-law:  Gary Malott of Salem, a sister:  Virginia Dawes of Southport, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife:  Mildred Gasaway Allen, three daughters:  Barbara Ann Allen, Mary Lou Cummings and Patricia Jo Malott, two brothers:  Robert S. Allen and William D. Allen, and a great-granddaughter:  Mary Ellen Mahuron.
