Leroy A. Fleming

Mr. Leroy A. Fleming, age 80, of Pekin, passed away Thursday, May 23 at Meadowview Health and Rehab. 

Mr. Fleming was born May 18, 1944 in Etty, Kentucky the son of Turner Tom and Bessie Fleming. Leroy was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Pekin Church of Christ, and the NRA. Leroy was retired from Henry Vogt Machine Co. and was the former Pekin Town Marshall. 

On August 3, 1963 Leroy married Iris Sue Johnson who preceded him in death on June 21, 2014. He is also preceded in death by a brother: Ronnie Bentley, a grandchild, and his parents. 

He is survived by two sons: Aaron Fleming (Stacey) of Pekin, and Ashley Ryan Fleming (Ashley Kim) of Sellersburg, two daughters: Lori Soydemir of Pekin and Tylene Jarrels of Bedford, the daughter of his heart: Carol Wainscott (Kenneth) of New Albany, five brothers: Leonard Fleming, Paul Fleming, Jessie Fleming, Frank Fleming, and David Fleming, seven sisters: Pauline Martin, Ruby Bentley, Lois Anderson, Helen Jackson, Starla Hampton, Teresa Fox, and Sheila Burnett, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild on the way. 

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, May 31^st at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9AM-until time of service.
