Judy (Bryant) Roney

Mrs. Judy Dare Roney, age 79, of Terre Haute, formerly of Salem, passed away Sunday, November 1 in Terre Haute.

Mrs. Roney was born May 30, 1941 in Kentucky the daughter of Otis Bryant and Ada Myrtle Lee Bryant.  She was a retired cook for Washington County Memorial Hospital. She attended church at Anthony Square in Terre Haute.

Judy married Douglas Eugene Roney on May 30, 1959 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2014.  She was also preceded in death by five brothers:  Denver Bryant, Jay Bryant, Carson Witt, Claude Witt, and Ray Witt, two sisters:  Jean Beck and Eunice Borders, one great-grandchild, and her parents.

She is survived by two sons:  Thomas Roney of Orleans and Will Roney of Oklahoma, three daughters:  Deborah Roney of Terre Haute, Indiana, Donna Roney of Lexington, Kentucky and Vickie Garcia of Lexington, Kentucky, five sisters:  Janie Witt Brown of Decatur, Alabama, Brenda Drury of Schnellville, Indiana, Ruth Stewart of Salem, Alfreda Randall of Azle, Texas, and Bernice Witt of Salem, a brother:  Lee Witt of Mormon’s Gap, Kentucky, 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM-time of service.

Burial will be in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
