Mr. John C. Williams Jr. age 85 of Salem passed away Saturday, May 17 at his home.
Mr. Williams was born April 13, 1929 in Norfolk, Virginia the son of John C. Williams Sr. and Lillian Owens Williams. He was a retired Commercial Fisherman. He was a member of Salem (High Street) Church of Christ and Friends of the Library. He was a volunteer for Old Settler’s Days.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Zink Williams. They were married May 26, 1990. He is also survived by two step-sons: James Tabor Jr. (Judy) of Salem and Jon Eric Tabor of Coinjock, North Carolina, a step-daughter: Lynne Neal (Bruce) of Norfolk, Virginia, 9 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Danny Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6PM Tuesday. Burial will be private.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to Salem Church of Christ, Hosparus of Southern Indiana, Friends of the Library or Steven’s Museum.
