Mr. John Wyler Stingel, age 90, of Salem passed away Wednesday, December 30 at his home.
Mr. Stingel was born April 15, 1930 in New Philadelphia, Ohio the son of Edward and Laura Bacu Stingel. He was retired from GKN Engineering department. He was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Exchange Club, British Car Club, and Indiana Railroad Association. He was an Air Force veteran where he served as crew chief on a B-36 Bomber.
He is survived by his wife: Joan Wright Stingel. They were married April 17, 1954. He is also survived by two sons: John E. Stingel (Sharon) of Sellersburg and James W. Stingel (Shelley) of Salem, two daughters: Debra Catlin of Salem and Dee Dee Zink (Joe) of Salem, two sisters: Barbara Ailes of Granville, Ohio and Mary Jo Harrell of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services and burial were held.
