Mr. John Earl Hoyt age 91 of Pekin passed away Wednesday, April 13 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
Mr. Hoyt was born June 20, 1925 in Pekin the son of Earl R. and Mary Van Horn Hoyt. He was a retired Chemical Engineer for Bechtel. He was a Korean War Army veteran. John was a member of Pekin United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Revolution.
John is survived by a nephew: Richard Hoyt (Carolyn) of Salem, a niece: Joan Brewer of Yorba Linda, California, two great-nieces: Tiffany Hoyt Smith (Nick) of Bloomington and Tamarya Hoyt Johnson (Scott) of Nashville, Tennessee, and three great-great-nephews: Collin and Caden Smith and Connor Johnson.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Raymond Hoyt, a sister: Helen Brewer, his parents, and a great-nephew: Randy Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service at the funeral home.
