Mr. John A. Agan age 83 of Livonia passed away Tuesday, March 12 at his home.
Mr. Agan was born February 14, 1930 in Washington County the son of Lewie Edward and Hazel Dora McCain Agan. He was a retired Indiana State Policeman and was Washington County Sheriff for 8 years. He also served for 4 years as a Detective for the Washington County Sheriff's Department. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Indiana Sheriff's Association.
He is survived by a son: John Michael Agan of Salem, two daughters: Terri Lynn Agan of Manor, Pennsylvania and Lori Ann Agan-Smith of Palm Coast, Florida, two brothers: Harold Agan and Jim Agan both of Hardinsburg, and 7 grandchildren: Brooke and Jordan Agan, LCpl John Kavel, USMC, PFC Joseph Kavel, USMC, Samuel Kavel, Clayton and Lauryn Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Margaret A. Moore and Jean McKinney.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Livonia Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
