Jesse Powell

Mr. Jesse Powell, age 81, of Salem, passed away Thursday, January 23 at his home.

Mr. Powell was born May 24, 1938 in Canton, Indiana the son of Jimmie and Mary Collins Powell.  He was a member of the Salem Nazarene Church.   He was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1958. He was the previous owner of The Dinner Bell Restaurant and was a former member of the National Guard.

Jesse is survived by his wife:  Lois Setser Powell.  They were married August 28, 1981.  He is also survived by two daughters:  Cindy McIntyre (Doug) of Campbellsburg and Jeanne Page (Don) of Salem, a brother:  Kenneth Powell (Wanda) of Canton, a sister Lola Mae Deaton of Salem, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother:  Junior Powell, a sister:  Joyce Sandlin, a grandson:  Gary Wayne Hartsook Jr. and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday at Weathers Funeral Home at 2PM.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 10AM-time of service.
