Jerry E Newlon

Mr. Jerry E. Newlon age 53 of Salem passed away Friday, April 18 at 3:05PM.

Mr. Newlon was born July 23, 1960 in Salem the son of Edmund R. and Mary Crotty Newlon.  Jerry grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1978.  He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Indiana University Southeast in New Albany.

He was an entrepreneur at heart and developed several online businesses.  He also worked at Childcraft and Kimball Manufacturing.  Jerry was of the Christian faith.

Jerry is survived by his wife:  Charlotte L. Cook Newlon , originally of Paoli, his daughter:  Paige Rachelle Newlon of Salem, step-daughter:  Tabitha Curtsinger of Salem, mother:  Mary Christine Newlon of Salem, and two sisters:  Belinda S. Denny (Paul) of Sellersburg and Teresa Newlon Draper (Cooper Draper) of Venice, Florida, four grandchildren and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father:  Edmund R. Newlon in 1998.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home with Paul Denny officiating.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:30-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.

Jerry believed his faith was best practiced by loving others.  Expressions of sympathy by donating towards his funeral expenses would be appreciated by his family.
