Jeffery Alan Maudlin

January 20, 1960 — May 4, 2018

Jasper

Jeffery Alan Maudlin, 58, Jasper, IN was welcomed into the loving arms of God on May 4, 2018.

A military veteran, Jeff was a jack of all trades, working often as a mechanic, maintenance and handy man. His love of family, God and tractors was met only by his passion and dedication to his local jail ministry, Beyond the Bars.  Over the last 4 years Jeff was able to connect and minister to dozens of incarcerated men and women and act as a support system once they were released.

His joyful but unexpected homegoing will be felt deeply by his family. His wife Kim Pavey-Maudlin (Jasper), his parents Stanley R. and Sally Maudlin (Campbellsburg), his siblings Joe Maudlin (Campbellsburg), Jonna Potter (Bob) (Campbellsburg), Arnold “Buddy” Maudlin (Karen) (Pekin), Joni Hardy (Clint) (Salem), and a whole pack of nieces and nephews join his children, Jeremy Maudlin (Tyra) (Pekin), James Maudlin (Jamie Lee) (Salem), Jessica Maudlin (John Phelps) (Jeffersonville), Jill Maudlin (Corey) (Salem), Joan Maudlin (Salem), Autumn Brown (Sellersburg) and grandchildren, Zoe, Lydia, Logan, Maddie, Gavin, Conner, Gavin, Ribus, Levi, Austin and Lillianna, in remaining to honor his legacy and memory. His grandmother Lillie B. Maudlin and his sister, Joy Schaeffer preceded him and will readily welcome him home.

Many friends, co-workers and fellow members of Victory Temple Assembly of God in Jasper, IN where Jeff attended services, will also miss his firm handshakes, laugh, and stories.

Jeff’s life (and Grizzly Adams-esque beard) will be celebrated at Weathers funeral home during visitation on Tuesday May 8th from 4p-8p and on Wednesday May 9th from 9a-11a. The funeral service will be at Weathers at 11am on Wednesday with Pastor Joel Riviera presiding with a burial to follow at Mt. Tabor Christian church in Campbellsburg.

His children request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Beyond the Bars Jail ministry. That can be done online at www.gracechurchlouisville.org using Beyond the Bars in the memo line.
