Jeanette (Huff) Bottom

April 11, 1927 — December 3, 2015

Jeanette Huff Bottom of Lexington, Kentucky passed from this world to be with her maker on December 3, 2015 at2:32AM.

Born April 11, 1927 in Krypton, Kentucky, Perry County to Albert Huff and Manda Hamblin Huff, of Salem, Indiana.   She attended the Lower Division of Berea College where she graduated high school.  After which she attended Berea College and earned her teaching certificate.  While in college she played tennis, field hockey, and became a cheerleader.  After college she taught many years in the Fayette County School System at the Old Big Picadome Elementary School and the current Little Picadome Elementary School on Harrodsburg Road where she helped to mold the minds of many young students.  While teaching she earned her Master Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky.  She was a life long member of Rosemont Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family and the many activities and fellowship it offered.  She was an avid gardener when not teaching and took pride in her yard and the many plants and flowers she had carefully placed to bring color and joy to her and her many visitors.

Jeanette was the loving mother of three boys:  Robert (Evelyn) Bottom of Nicholasville, Jerry (Dolly) Bottom of Lexington and John (Mary Ruth) Bottom of Frankfort.  She was a grandmother to Brandon Robert (preceded her in death), Chelsie (Nathan) of Savannah, Georgia, Meghan of Versailles, and Emily of Frankfort.  She was preceded in death by her sister:  Cleta Mae Leonard (Bill), her brother:  Walter Huff (Dottie), and her twin brother:  Jerald.  She is survived by her younger brothers:  Olson (Marylyn) Huff and Lloyd (Merilace) Huff.

Jeanette will be laid to rest beside her mother, father, and twin brother at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 12 at 11:00AM at Crown Hill Cemetery.
