Reverend Jay W. “Boot” Partin age 67 of Salem passed away Tuesday, September 30 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Jay was born June 6, 1947 in Blackwater, Kentucky the son of Charles E. and Rebecca H. Jones Partin. He was a minister for various Church of God Mountain Assembly churches and had a gospel broadcast on WSLM. He retired from Smith Cabinet Company after 30 years. He was a member of Lighthouse of Prayer in Borden.
He is survived by his companion: Kay Peyton of New Albany, two brothers: Rondal “Brad” Partin and Charles Partin both of Salem, five sisters: Gaye Denham, Priscilla Brewer, Jan Baker, Donna Ross and Connie Partin all of Salem and three half sisters: Janet Partin, Melissa Reitz and Jennifer Partin all of Hamilton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Bobby Partin and a sister: Peggy Partin.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service.
