James Richard "Rick" Hampton

Mr. James Richard “Rick” Hampton, age 76, of Hernando, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 17 in Tampa, Florida.

Mr. Hampton was born October 4, 1943 in Pekin, Indiana the son of James W. Hampton and Lenna Ruth Nicholson Hampton.  He was retired from Kimball International as Vice President of Raw Material Operations.  He was a member of Fordsville Baptist Church in Fordsville, Kentucky, Fordsville Lions Club and Hernando Oaks Country Club in Brooksville, Florida.  He was a US Navy veteran.

Rick is survived by his wife:  Gloria Casey Hampton.  They were married March 20, 1979.  He is also survived by a daughter:  Kimberly Ison (Ricky) of Henryville, Indiana, three brothers:  Arthur Hampton of Campbellsburg, Dave Hampton (Cathy) of Pekin and Bruce Hampton (Mary) of Jeffersonville, two sisters:  Phyllis Markland (Sam) of Pekin and Carolyn Short (Myron) of Salem, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a step-son:  Carey Livers, a sister-in-law:  Jeanie Hampton and his mother:  Ruth Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home with military rites to follow.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery.
