Mr. James E. McKnight, age 80, of Salem, passed away Saturday, August 6 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg.
Mr. McKnight was born November 17, 1941, in Vienna, Indiana the son of Edwin Wardie and Laurel Imogene Collings McKnight. He was an over the road truck driver, a former employee of the Sears store in Clarksville, and Baird Mobile Homes. He was a member of Canton Christian Church. James loved flying model airplanes and was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. He also loved riding motorcycles and going to the beach.
James is survived by two daughters: Julie Thixton (Danny Habermel) of Salem, and Luwana M. Cauley (Richard) of Leesburg, Florida, three brothers: Donald R McKnight (Connie) of Salem, Gary D. McKnight (Cathy) of Salem, and Larry G. McKnight (Adley) of Phoenix, Arizona, a sister: Linda S. Motsinger (Gary) of Buckeye, Arizona, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law: Peggy L. and Jim Petty.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service at the funeral home.
