Mr. James Malcolm Black age 66 of Salem passed away Tuesday, June 25 at 9:20PM at Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville.
Mr. Black was born December 10, 1946 in Hammond, Indiana the son of James W. Grafton and Gertrude Hampsten. He was a disabled Vietnam War Army Veteran. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was also a member of military order of Purple Heart and the First Cavalry Dvision Association. Mr. Black was also a member of the volunteer unit that provides graveside honors for deceased veterans.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Jane Engel Black. They were married September 17, 1996. He is also survived by a son: Randy Black of Crown Point, Indiana, a daughter: Donna Guerro of Gray, Indiana, a step-son: Anthony Jennette of Independence, Missouri, two step-daughters: Sophia Redmon of Radcliff, Kentucky and Stephanie Todd of Corydon, Indiana, two sisters: Becky Lakes of Oregon and Sandy McKenzie of Las Vegas, Nevada and 15 grandchildren.
