Mr. Jack L. Sullivan, age 93, of Salem, passed away, Friday, December 29 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus.
Mr. Sullivan was born August 31, 1930 in Washington County the son of Orville and Lida Bush Sullivan. He was a member of Blue River Friends Church. He was a 1949 Salem High School Graduate. Jack retired from Everett I. Brown Architectural Firm, where he oversaw construction of schools in Indiana and Texas.
Jack was a member of the Model A Restorers Club-Columbus Region, the Model A Ford Club of America, and the Antique Automobile Club of America. He traveled with his wife Kathryn to 49 states and several Canadian Provinces in their 1929 Model A Roadster accumulating over 225,000 miles. He was always glad to help other Model A people with their car problems and was known as an excellent Model A mechanic.
In October 1949 Jack married Kathryn Jean Sullivan who preceded him in death on August 24, 2021. He is also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Bill Elrod, a grandson: Johnny Elrod, two brothers: Howard Sullivan and Charles Sullivan, a sister: Norma Mack, and his parents.
He is survived by two sons: Jack Sullivan (Linda) of Seymour, and Jim Sullivan (Lorrie) of Campbellsburg, two daughters: Sherry Elrod of Salem, and Kathy Packwood (Max) of Campbellsburg, 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, January 2 at Blue River Friends Church. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10AM-until time of service at the church.
