Ivan F Brewer Sr.
June 11, 1923 — January 16, 2013
Mr. Ivan F. Brewer Sr. age 89 of Bloomington, formerly of Salem, passed away Wednesday, Janaury 16 at 6:00AM at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Mr. Brewer was born June 11, 1923 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Jerry and Dicy Bottoroff Brewer. He was a former employee of Salem Creamery and Smith Cabinet Company and worked as a carpenter for Paul Smith Construction. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church where he helped out as custodian. He enjoyed raising money to donate to Crusade for Children and also delivering Meals on Wheels through Salem Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Mildred Wingler Brewer in 1978. He then married Ruby Nicholson and she also preceded him in death. In addition to Mildred and Ruby he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Raymond, Olis, Arley and Elden Brewer, a sister: Mabel Owens and a grandson: Ryan Scott Brewer. He is survived by one son: Ivan F. Brewer Jr. (Sheila) of Bloomington, a sister: Berniece Monning of Ashland, Oregon, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00AM-time of service.
